[Intro Music Fades In]

Hey! It's Cookie O'Clock! You're tuning in to "Tune Talk: Weekly Music News" with Brooke, where we whip up the latest in music with a dash of humor and a sprinkle of wit. Grab your headphones and let’s dive right in.

Alright folks, we're starting off hot with the big stuff from June 2nd to June 8th, 2025. And guess what? Lil Wayne is making waves again! He's back with "Tha Carter VI," dropping on June 6th. It's been seven years since "Tha Carter V," and this time he's rolling with a posse that includes MGK, Wyclef, Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, and even Bono. Talk about squad goals!

On the singles scene, Sabrina Carpenter just gifted us with "Manchild." Apparently, she’s unstoppable, after a smashing 2024 and now she’s setting the charts on fire again. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran has released "Sapphire," the sparkling third single from his forthcoming album, "PLAY."

Remember Britpop icons Pulp? Well, brace yourselves because they're back with "More"—their first album in 23 years! How's that for a comeback? And speaking of returns, The Ting Tings have dropped "Home," serving us their particular brand of earworms after a seven-year hiatus. Turnstile fans, rejoice! Their hardcore punk anthem "Never Enough" has finally blasted its way onto the scene.

For a change of pace, we have the multi-talented Cynthia Erivo with her second studio album, "I Forgive You." And let’s not forget MARINA, formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds, who’s embracing her independence with "Princess of Power." If that's not enough, Brian Eno and Beatie Wolfe are redefining collaborative genius with not one, but two albums: "Lateral" and "Luminal."

In country news, Laci Kaye Booth is out with "George F***** Strait," and guess what? Rascal Flatts is cruising down nostalgia lane with "Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets." Now, if you're feeling the rap vibes, Young Thug is teasing us with "Money on Money" featuring Future. His album "UY Scuti" promises to be this month’s must-listen.

Alright, switching gears to the industry buzz! Taylor Swift just pulled a power move of epic proportions by securing her entire original back catalog. Talk about a boss moment in artist ownership. And what’s this? Duran Duran is back in the studio with Nile Rodgers. Oh, to be a fly on that wall!

The CMA Fest kicked off in style from June 5th to June 8th, and the first-ever SXSW London is in full swing, spotlighting music, film, tech, and culture. Over in tech news, Seated, the direct-to-fan ticketing platform, is back with its original founders. They’re on a mission to empower artists with more control over ticket sales and data. Who doesn't love an artist-first approach?

In chart town, Morgan Wallen's "I'm the Problem" tops the Billboard 200 for the second week. Seems like he's definitely NOT the problem when it comes to hitting the right notes with fans.

We round off this week with a fond farewell to legends we've lost. Alf Clausen, remembered for scoring our lives through nearly 600 episodes of "The Simpsons," passed at 84. Also, jazz has lost a giant, Al Foster, the incredible drummer known for his magic touch with Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, passed at 82. Their music will continue to resonate in our hearts.

Well, that's a wrap for this week. From new releases to nostalgic returns, and industry-turning power moves, it's been a wild ride. Catch you next time for another session of "Tune Talk: Weekly Music News." Until then, keep those playlists pumping and remember, if you love music, always keep it tuned!
