June 17, 2025, marked an electrifying night at Globe Life Field, where the Royals claimed a 6-1 victory. It was a perfect evening for baseball: 74 degrees and comfortable beneath the closed roof. With 34,408 fans in attendance, the atmosphere was nothing short of spectacular.

Starting with the top of the first, Maikel Garcia set the tone by singling and bringing home Bobby Witt Jr. The legendary Salvador Perez wasted no time upping the ante with a two-run homer. Royals took an early 3-0 lead, and you could feel the momentum building.

Fast forward to the top of the fourth, Perez continued his onslaught with an RBI double, this time ushering Vinnie Pasquantino across the plate. This pushed the Royals to a commanding 4-0 advantage.

However, the Rangers weren’t about to be swept under the rug. In the bottom of the fourth, Alejandro Osuna singled, enabling Corey Seager to score, cutting into the Royals’ lead. An error by our guy, Royals' right fielder John Rave, let Osuna advance to second, bringing the score to 4-1.

Then came the top of the fifth, just as the crowd was settling into their seats, Bobby Witt Jr. hit a pow! A solo home run, his ninth of the season – making it 5-1. Not to be outdone by his teammates, Salvador Perez came back in the sixth inning. He hit his second homer of the game, making it a grand 6-1. This impressive solo shot not only electrified the game but also marked Perez’s 18th career multi-homer game.

Let’s shine a spotlight on our 'big dill' player for the game—none other than Salvador Perez. He was the epicenter of excellence, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, four RBIs, and scoring twice. Numbers like that are just off the charts, and this kind of performance is what makes Perez the quintessential 'big dill.'

Bobby Witt Jr. also deserves a nod, surely making Royals fans proud. He went 1-for-4, nailed a home run, brought in an RBI, and scored two runs. Maikel Garcia was equally impressive, contributing with an RBI single and crossing the plate himself.

On the mound, Seth Lugo proved his mettle. With a 4-5 record after this game, Lugo pitched six solid innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out nine batters. His control was impeccable, throwing 62 strikes out of 96 pitches, clinching the win for the Royals.

Royals' No. 3 prospect, Carter Jensen, showed he's a force to be reckoned with down in Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
